Howd A California Girl End Up With A Vacation Home In The Panhandle?
I know it’s strange because Californians tend to believe that the sun rises and sets over our beaches sadly though we only get sunsets unlike Florida where you have the advantage of seeing either or both But this California girl knows an awesome white sandy beach with tropical warm water when she sees one. Was this because of my years growing up in Georgia and visiting those beaches as a kid? I would count on it!
So I see the beauty in both! Florida beaches have nice soft sand you can walk in for hours and hours… California beaches have photographic cliffs and rock formations to entertain you as you drive up and down the coast. Florida beaches have warm water and even warmer air most of the year … California beaches have that haunting fog which can be the perfect setting for romantic walks or bundling up together with someone special. Florida beaches go with frozen concoctions … California beaches go with red wine. Florida beaches go with fried shrimp … California beaches go with barbecued oysters.
When it came time to decide where to invest in a vacation property the decision was simple. I already have the cliffs the fog the red wine and barbecued oysters within a short drive. I wanted to balance that with soft white sand warm water frozen drinks and fried shrimp … and ensure that I will always have the best of both places that are close to my heart! Oh … that and have you priced a beach place on the California coast lately? :
